Title:  Nandi Betta- A quiet bustle
(Inspired by the beauty of Nandi Hills, which is my frequent hide-out away from the city life)

Medium: Mixed media on canvas (acrylic paints, inks, real leaves, texture paste etc.)

My story:
This painting is inspired by my experience of Nandi Hills while staying at Mulberry Shades resort. The quiet morning in the lap of nature, with Nandi hill emerging out of clouds, the cool breeze with hint of mist, Red flame flowers in full bloom everywhere sending me into deep hypnosis. Just then, the stillness was broken by a bunch of mischievous monkeys playing on a Red Flame (Palash) tree. I could see the mother closely watching over her little rascals while they jumped up & above, then suddenly leaped down. I remember the little monkey infants looked at me with curiosity while I silently observed them, possibly caught them in their playful acts. Then, one of them started playing hide & seek in the foliage; looking at me & then hiding behind the leaves (while still gazing at me). I was so deeply touched by their expressive behaviour that I wanted to capture their family in my story.
Again, it's not painted from any photo but just from the experience, the moments etched in my head. So you can see It's  painted in a very playful, abstract expressive way.

As always I started with no plan in my mind just the whole experience in my mind & I just let my heart take me where it wanted to go. For this painting, I used real leaves of the flame tree which are commonly seen all over Bengaluru for capturing the essence, the texture of the leaves. The bright & beautifulI Flame flowers are painted with a lot of texture with palette knife. 
I had so much fun creating this very unique painting & this painting is so close to my heart.

Title: Between the King & the monarch
(Two heads have important matter to discuss )

My Story:
This painting explores a possible point of discussion between the two kings. I tried to express the fragility of the tiger & the strength of the monarch butterfly - opposite to the common perception of their individual qualities. In a way, it attempts to show that individual has a strong side & a fragile side to them. The key is acceptance of our strongest & weakest attributes - that truly builds character.

As always, started with no plan in my mind just the two beings & I just let my heart take me where it wanted to go. Compared to my other paintings, here I have used limited elements in this painting & painted this in monochrome colours mainly. Purple is the colour of royalty making it the perfect choice for my background interspersed with dash of gold.

Process:

I have re-created these from my original canvas paintings.

I have hand painted on the prints of my original artwork and handwritten the messages.

I have mixed digital and and traditional mediums to design these unique home accents at affordable price points.

I have used lightweight engineered pine wood slices as a base for these ornaments.

These are painted using acrylic paints and sealed with layers of gloss varnish. A Jute twine is used to hang these.

These ornaments are a great gift to decorate a kid's room with positive messages and beauty of wildlife.

They can be gifted to friends or as a positive affirmation for one self.

These can be used as ornaments/ accents for christmas.

She’s a fighter,
She fights for the Bills,
She’s a preserver, she’s a protector,
She dreams of a haven for their free flight
She yearns for yellow in her sight
He takes her in a warm embrace
And presents her a revered feather
Where everyone simply takes it, She earns it
She earns the Hornbill feather and wears it with grace.

Great Indian Hornbills are threatened in India for various reasons. So I just had in mind the story of a hornbill who finds love, care & safety in his protector's arms.

I started with no plan in my mind just the two beings & I just let my heart take me where it wanted to go. I used a lot of things for interesting mark making like twigs, a lot of texture paste, real leaves etc. & I had so much fun creating this very unique painting.

Inspired by the beautiful friendship blossoming between the Koi fish & the dragonfly by a pond that I come across often on my walks.

This is a mixed media painting & I have used various tools for mark making, adding textures like real leaves, threads, toys, texture paste, acrylic inks, paints etc. I have painted it in a very expressionist manner where the story unfolded on the canvas without any background preparation. It's like creating a story from a chaos which I enjoy very much.

My Story:
Have you ever noticed how a small plant can sprout out of nowhere? Through cracks in concrete, walls, roadside rubble? World over, all places destroyed completely by humans is taken over by nature where life again springs back. What do you call it?

I have often observed these little miracles on my daily walks & they inspire me to see beauty even in the toughest spots.

I had once read these beautiful words 'Life's longing for itself' in a poem by Khalil Gibran & everything fell in place! 
So this painting is inspired by so many emotions & my childhood experiences. It's about Life's longing for itself.

It's  painted in an abstract expressive way. Like many of my paintings I just had these words in my mind & with layers & layers of paint, textures & emotions the story became whole on my canvas. It became my Tree of Life.
